“People who wade into discomfort and vulnerability and tell the truth about their stories are the real badasses.” -Brené Brown

The physics of vulnerability is simple: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. Rising Strong is a book about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.

You’re really trying to show up for your life. You stepped out and did something brave, something vulnerable…but at some point ended up face-down in the mud. You fell in the act of being brave. We’ve all been there. It feels awful. You begin to think you’ve made a big, fat mistake. It might lead you to close back up, to avoid stepping out in courage again. It may even lead to anxiety or loss of connection. Or you might just feel stuck, not sure how to move forward out of the mud.

But that doesn’t have to be your story. Daring Greatly™ will always lead to falls. It’s inevitable. There’s no perfection in the daring, and I’ll never sell that to you. But you can learn to trust yourself to know how to get back up, to Rise Strong, and to move forward in a meaningful way.

Join me, Joy Johnson, and a small group of likeminded folks as we wade into what it means to Reckon, Rumble, and start our own personal Revolutions even in the mud. Over the course of 8 weeks, you’ll learn the tools to deepen your understanding of your own story and what is holding you back. You’ll gain clarity on your core values to help guide you as you own your story and write your brave new ending in a safe environment.

As Brené Brown says, “Owning our story can be hard, but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky, but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love, belonging, and joy…Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

8-week Workshop starting October 2019

Daring Way quote.png

“People who wade into discomfort and vulnerability and tell the truth about their stories are the real badasses.” -Brené Brown

You’re really trying to show up for your life. But sometimes, you find yourself getting stuck and you aren’t quite sure why. You do your best to make sure everyone else sees the curated, “perfect” version of you. While this works sometimes, not being able to show up as exactly who you are is taking it’s toll - you’re experiencing burnout or lacking true connection with your those in your life.

Join me and a small group of likeminded folks as we wade into what it means to Show Up, Be Seen, and Live Brave™ in a messy world. Over the course of 8 weeks, you’ll learn the tools to deepen your understanding of your own story and what is holding you back. You’ll gain clarity on your core values to help guide you as you develop your shame resilience practice in a safe environment.

ABOUT THE DARING WAY™

The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders. It can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings. During the process facilitators explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. Participants are invited to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.
